“An obvious mocking of Puerto Ricans.”

Maybe you’re kidding, but Rosanne Rosannadanna is an obvious mocking of Italians.

At about that same time, there was a radio DJ called John Bonnadonna. That sort of, what is it, rhyming? Was common amongst Italians from Philly to NY. Don’t know about Boston.

This was a light hearted spoof of a NYC TV newswoman, I can’t remember the real lady’s name. Maybe Roseanne Rosanadella? Something like that. Of course Gilda made it her own. The real woman was not a goofball, but she did do those typical tv news fluff pieces.

Someone will remember better than me!

Roseanne Roseannadanna was a caricature of Roseanne Scamardella, a channel 7 reporter in NYC and, obviously, Italian.

I think the name came from an NYC TV journalist named Roseanne Scamaradilla (sp?).
