To: Borges

Vladimir Nabokov wrote many interesting pieces, among them was a novel called “Lolita”. Some of you may have even seen the movie when it came out in 1962. I was with my family at a Drive In theater.

When it became clear what the movie was about,(Saucy teen girl flirts with much older married man) my Mom convinced my Dad to cut the volume box off and leave that Drive In. I wasn’t really paying attention to the film until I realized we were leaving the parking lot. “Hey! What’s going on?”

That’s not what the novel is about! The girl is 12 and the guy reads all sorts of things into normal 12 year old girl behavior.
