I went to a party of this British TV producer near Malibu 2 years ago and I can confidently say he has one of the biggest collection of old western guns ever collected. More than 100. It was unreal. Surrounded by posters of John Wayne and Gary cooper.

I asked him why he got into collecting old American western stuff and he told me when he was a lad’ in London all he wanted to watch were cowboy movies. Apparently his dad went to Hollywood back in the 60’s and worked with John Wayne..

I get that. Being a suburban NYC kid, the space, light and narrative of the American West always held an allure. As a kid, I read nearly every Louis L’Amour book up until his last one (I think) - Haunted Mesa.
