DeSantis should welcome trump back and be his VP and advisor taking the reins in 2028 and beyond...

i had someone tell me they wish they could vote for trump again instead of Biden... shoplifter’s remorse.

says DeSantis wouldn't appoint backstabbers and would probably fire Deep State traitors.

At least, not until he's elected. Then, it's business as usual. The future of Conservatism is doomed with the GOP.

The echos of the crowds cheering the return of President Trump to the political scene are still to be heard and already those who condemn Haley, Barr, McConnell and others for stabbing Trump in the back are already themselves ready to dump him.

What a bunch of ankle biters and back stabbers.

So before you flame me, name one, just one politician who can get the cheering crowds and the heartfelt enthusiasm that greet Trump in every public appearance.

Polls don’t count. Real people standing in the cold rain for hours waiting for him are the ones who count.

Very astute comment. So good to see thoughtful commentary.

I don't know how DeSantis would be able to identify Deep State traitors any better than Trump.

Exactly. If Trump didn't do it, no one else will, including DeSantis or anyone in the GOP, for that matter. If you enjoy being stabbed in the back by your own party, by all means, vote GOP. Of course, with the leftists having the vote fraud organization they do, it won't matter anyhow. It's going to be a very long time, if at all, before another Republican is elected to the highest office.

I don’t necessarily disagree, but let’s see how DeSantis’ re-election goes. That will tell us a lot about whether he’s ready or not.

I don’t not want Trump running the Republican Party. He can have his opinion and make all the speeches he wants....but the Republican Party belongs to the people...not one man with a giant ego. .

Nobody should have the kind of power and iinfluence that many posters here want Trump to have in the Republican Party.

Don’t worry, Trump isn’t going to run again. But he will be the Kingmaker, deal with it.

As a Floridian, I am very pleased with DeSantis’ strong, able leadership so far. He’s young and smart and very firm in his decisions and stands up to the press very well.

Having said that, it is too soon to say push Trump aside in 2024. Much has yet to happen and if Trump is successful in recruiting candidates and delivering on getting back the House and senate in ‘22, he will be more powerful than ever. I will want to see if he still has gas in the tank for ‘24. He can always team with DeSantis and create a long-term vision for our country!

He makes some good points.. says DeSantis wouldn't appoint backstabbers and would probably fire Deep State traitors.

How do we know these are good points? DeSantis has never dealt with Washington's Deep State actors - we have no idea how he'd do. If Trump runs again (and I believe he will), I'd hope he has learned from bitter experience and would make far better hires the second time around.

Agree. Watched Trumps speech yesterday; while it would have been ok to spend a minute or two commenting on the election he went on and on about it. Thought he would never stop.

I think Trump does it in the hopes of doing something about election reform, if that's what it takes to do it, then more power to Trump. He's playing the long game.

DeSantis will be well-tested in 2022, he will be the Rats’ Number One target, he’s going to get a real good education about how things work from that.

If he prevails, I say he’s bullet-proof for 2024.

Of course he did - he's infuriated that a national election was stolen from him. He's right to do so. It's just more evidence that he's determined to run again.

“shoplifter’s remorse.”

Excellent terminology. More accurate than “buyer’s remorse”.

Well, no, and there is a bit of a disconnect. If the election was fraudulent why would Trump run again?
