FWIW - My maternal grandfather was the county health officer for 25+ years. My mom and aunt were, quite literally, poster children in eastern NC for various vaccines that became available in the 1930s.

That is very interesting, Lone Palm! I’m going to ask my dad if he got vaccines. They lived on a farm and rarely saw the doctor.
