I should have had it, as I was within those 10 years that they were "eradicating Smallpox" and I remember all my friends had the little circle scar on their arms, but I could never figure out why I didn't have one. Just a few months ago, my mom brought over a box of stuff for me after cleaning out a cabinet and one of the things in there was my vaccination record. MMR and that was it, but no smallpox. I asked her about it and she said, "I guess they thought you didn't need it."

I then had an image of my mind of a screaming, hysterical child climbing the walls like a demon and ripping her hair out dramatically and the military doc taking one look at me and saying, "Yeah, let's just not do it and say we did, okay?" 😂

I’m almost 65, so you must be at least 10 yrs or MORE behind be. They didn’t have MMR when I was a kid. I was born in ‘56, was about the size of a noodle and it took my mom and dad holding me and I remember my mother just grabbed my skinny little arm and they did the small pox on the inner arm. And I remember sugar cube polio vaccines??

I had both types of measles and the chicken pox. My sister got the mumps in junior high.. I sat close to her, but didn’t get sick either before or after and was like.. “well that didn’t work” lol. So I don’t think I’ve ever had the mumps. Not worried now.

Our younger sister never got exposed to chicken pox as she came later, so when her son got it, she got chicken pox BAD. She’s 58, and has already had shingles.
