Maybe you can elucidate and edumatcate me. No negativity intended, just trying to learn. Heinlein was my go to guy for reading in upper el in the late 50s..

Hmm, I don’t remember that particular passage. I didn’t actually read all of Heinlein’s stuff. I kind of gave up after “Sail beyond the sunset”, it got kind of a little too inbred for me. :P

Elucidation and Edumacation aside, my preferred authors from that era are Jack Vance and James Schmitz.
