I moved from Seattle to rural KY ten years ago. I found that I was very slowly tuning out US culture. Then the pandemic hit. Suddenly my tuning out was at the speed of sound.
Yesterday I went to the eye doctor. Before that trip my Life360 said I’d been home since February 12. I even missed church due to the weather. I visited four stores to get some stuff and never had to wear a mask, and then I went home. I don’t expect to have to mingle reason to leave home except for church for quite a while.
Before the pandemic, I drove 155 miles to and from my job in Louisville every day. Now I work from home. I feel a bit like the guy on a ranch in mid 1800’s Nevada, except I don’t have to worry about Indians and Mexicans. And I have all the water I need.
Thank you, Amazon.
Relish in it. I don't know what you do for a living but if you can now do it from home, it can be done cheaper from a chinese labor camp. Just saying.
