Coming from complete opposites of the economic sprectrum, the US and China are actually moving towards similar fascist-style economic systems, - heavy on central planning and uniparty politics, with a large amount of wealth inequality from insider dealing and corrupt crony-capitalism.
Of course, China has been following versions of the same model for 3000 years, so they’ll come out of better than the US will.

I’m not that concerned about the Gini coefficient but there will come a point...And Piketty was way off the mark...
That said, we as a nation will be crushed by Megacorps before they manage to sell us to the Chinese.
Something about selling the rope to hang us?
IIRC Xi is currently attempting to rein in his Megacorps.
While Bidet Joe is attempting to force-feed the Megacorps with tax dollars to be his friend.
Sure - their experimentation with capitalism since 1978 has changed China far more than their experimentation with Communism in the previous three decades. The Mandarins are still in control, but they have learned how to use Communism as a tactic to manage the peasants and corporatism (fascism) to grow the economy and deal with international relations. Because they have maintained social order through the threat of violence (we lost our social order permanently in the 60’s) they manage to do a lot of things better than us. Eventually, this will include military operations - not quite yet, but it is coming.
