Yes - pain is what his facial expression registered to me when I saw him on TV. Everything I saw during his brief on-air time said to me that he wanted to limit his on-camera time. All his answers were the opposite of “talkative”.
I am not blowing my own horn but I have some empathy with Tiger, knowing personally (spinal injury) what it is like to live with pain you wake up to and go to bed with knowing moderation and not elimination is the best you will ever get. That kind of pain makes life similar to a blind person or a person who can no longer walk. It is life and you can’t (and try not to) get up and go to bed wringing your hands in the fashion of “woe is me, what WILL I do”, for that solves nor changes anything nor helps you get on with life, as it is. I am sure Tiger knows what I am talking about very well.
I am sorry that you have that kind of pain.

Not first hand but someone very close to me has had severe back problems for years..but refuses the surgery
