I remember a very early on, maybe even last March, when Dr. Birx named the three or four major comorbidities which led to a bad outcome from coronavirus. One of them was obesity. I never heard it mentioned again. She must have been silenced to make sure that there was no “fat shaming”:in our nation, the most obese in the world larger than a tiny island.

Last year, I was sure that the powers in our country would keep statistics on who was getting bad outcomes after catching coronavirus. Then we would be told so that people who were most at risk could take whatever precautions they wanted to and the rest of us could go about our lives. How foolish of me.
