“Schedule a housewarming party for 6 weeks from now.”

LOL! now that would be clever. But I’m perfectly happy picking out stuff out of boxes, and tripping over things in the hallway.

Actually, my first priority is to get the other house emptied and cleaned and ready. And then tackle the boxes. I need to think of just today’s agenda or I get overwhelmed. Luckily, my back only hurt a little yesterday, so hopefully I’ll do some sweeping and mopping today with no repercusions!

But I’m getting realtor calls already. As one said, the market is a ball of fire. Few houses are coming on the market, but I guess people are still wanting to move here.

Oh, the housewarming party....that’ll be good in another year or two, LOL. This house is a mess! It was built well 30 years ago. But after the dad died, not one bit of maintance was done. From the looks of it, that is. Just guessing. Got a quote for $50,000 to redo the driveway. They let it get so bad that it now needs to be completely redone, with the current driveway torn up and hauled off. Yup, the rest of the house is about the same.

I tried the same excuse when I moved, about delaying the housewarming. I was going to do it in 6 months (which would have been around Christmas). Director said ‘oh no, you have to give it sooner!’.

So it was in the middle of July, on probably the hottest day of the year. The HVAC was working overtime (about 25 years old and died the following summer), we were using the oven and I had no furniture. But the boxes were gone (or neatly stacked in the garage)! LOL

And I have contacts from realtors probably every week, inquiring if I’m interested in selling my house. Based on comps, house price is probably $30,000 more than I paid for it in 2017. But where would I live if I sold it?? Just hoping the market is like this when I am ready to sell about 2024-2025.
