New preliminary federal data for 2020 from January to September shows that almost every single U.S. state saw a decline birth rates compared to 2019
Eight states - Arizona, California, Florida, Hawaii, Iowa, Ohio, Oklahoma and Oregon - shared complete data for last year
In these states, there were a total of 1,027,207 births in 2019 compared to 941,040 babies born in 2020, which means there were 86,167 fewer births
The biggest drops in births was seen in California, which saw a 13.7% decrease in births from 2019 to 2020
Only Delaware and Rhode Island saw increases between last year and the year prior, although it is unclear why
I wonder if our immigration control is part of that?
