I wouldn’t say it’s common (I’ve never had it but I know where to get it if I want!) but you can find it in some grocery stores and restaurants around here. I think it’s classified as a ‘game meat’, along the lines of bison, venison, elk, quail, turtle, snake and frog legs.
Here’s a local restaurant that carries gator on their menu. https://www.caneyforkrestaurant.com/caney-fork-river-valley-grille-wild-game-menu/ I go for the catfish!
I didn’t know, been busy all day so don’t know any news.
π
Why is that disturbing? It’s not like eating cute sweet things. It taste a lot like chicken. I’ve eaten rattlesnake too.
I was off today and catching up on here, so just have tons of fun! :)
Hopefully we won’t see news articles about some Texas woman going wild in New Orleans. If we do, we’ll send bail money!
We were just laughing yesterday about alligators getting picked up by Hurricane Harvey out of their home and dropped into people’s yards in some town. The abortion said just to avoid them and they should leave on their own.
It was like that crazy movie “Sharknado” except this was “gatorcane”
We’re going out to the swamps in a boat and look for gators.
Ha!
We got this if needed! LOL!
Thank you!
How in the world did “mayor” turn into “abortion”?
I was wondering what word that was supposed to be!!!
ROFL
Lol I thought there was some new word for an alligator expert of which I was not aware lol. Mayor? Abortion? That’s quite a stretch!
Rusty’s just saying that the word was supposed to be ‘mayor’. She is in New Orleans after all, and it’s getting late....;)
Ahhhh I see what you’re saying. Rusty is....tired? You mean tired, right? That’s the only thing I can think of that would cause such a slurrage of words lol.
Just make sure there ain't too many gators looking..for..you.
(Went "home" for Thanksgiving with a Cajun I was stationed with, never will forget all those eyes out in the swamp....)
Why, absolutely!!!! Not sure how Rusty got there (drove or flew) but traveling is always tiring! And on top of that, having a belly full of good food. π΄
Hiya, (((NIKK)))!!
Good to see you/your posts!!
I miss all of you and will be back here as soon as I can but Priority One is Going Home!!!
Yee haw, dear pax!
We’ll be here waiting for you, with open arms.
Can’t wait for you to get here.
That’s one reason why I’ve never seriously considered retiring to Florida. Have no desire to make the acquaintance of one!
Very funny. My ex (daughters’) dad came down also. We walked all over, then we got lost and couldn’t find where we parked the vehicles. Ex and I were both really hurting from all the walking. So oldest daughter suggested we go to House of Bourbon to rest a bit. Boy did they make a strong drink! Anyway after that we figured where we parked and I was walking much better, told them I should have had that drink hours before.
Some of us are going to Saint Louis Cathedral in the morning, kids were telling me to stay away from confession because it would take all day. π΅
