Yes! First time she wouldn’t leave me alone until i gave her a,l the beer she wanted. Then she was having a grand time! The next morning my dad and I pulled into the driveway and Gertrude was laying on her side, I thought I had killed her and dad would be so upset. I went over to her and she just lifted her head and could barely make a sound. She had a hangover and was soon OK, so I thought she wouldn’t ever want beer again, but I was wrong. I told my parents about Gertrude drinking beer and they just thought it was funny. I wonder if her eggs were special, lol.

There is also a concern, apparently, that the spike protein triggered by these vaccines may make one more susceptible to the more-deadly MERS. Who knows? A doctor friend warned of clots and was telling everyone he knew to take baby aspirin.
Lol when I was a teen I’d go spend a week or two at my friend’s that lived in the hills. Their neighbors had a bull and I did the same thing! I thought it was hilarious watching him get mad as I danced and hollered but my friend just thought I was going to get killed. I have no injuries to report though.

I don’t know how many hens you’re thinking about getting, but my dad had a lot of them, and their poop stinks, so I wouldn’t recommend having them right by the house. And it doesn’t make good fertilizer.

I have a cone which would make very easy, just put them in upside down - it’s quick, painless and no flapping around. The way hubby does it, the entire flock is traumatized for days 🙄

I used to feed them cubes, as babies...but....that makes it hard when market time comes 😢
A lot of our heifers are sold to increase herds. So, that’s good.
Hen litter takes a year to break down and needs to get up to 160 in the compost pile, but it is all we use to fertilize our garden. We keep a year old pile for the garden and a newer pile for next year.
Very frustrating and maddening.
