"Is there no sand in Texas?"

No, there's not. There are no snow plows or salt trucks, either. Practically the whole state is limestone, except for the crescent in the south made from silt brought down by rivers. The only sand has to come from the Gulf.

Storms like this last one only come about once a century. Snow removal equipment doesn't last that long.

(I'm only mildly exaggerating.)

I deploy three lidded sand buckets with scoops at the compound every Winter.

One at the House, one at the Garage and one toward the top of the hill along the driveway.

They come in handy on occasion.
