I feel for you. My mom is also in her 80s and I have a different problem... keeping her from jumping off the ledge after Trump lost. She has finally decided to turn off all news (big Lou Dobbs fan and totally distraught after he was fired) and focus on the Hallmark Channel. When I go see her now, I keep conversation on talking about the fun times we all had with my dad. It makes her so happy to talk about him.
Great move. My mom hits 90 this year, and I never talk politics around her. We talk about old times, game shows, and stuff like that. There's no reason to get someone that age into a bitter and angry mood.
