One of my cousins in the Vancouver area has a successful specialty lumber business, with most of his customers in the U.S. He's pretty conservative and generally pro-American. He was initially pro-Trump -- until Trump raised tariffs on lumber. Ironically, under Trump the U.S. economy improved so much that he ended up selling even more lumber. This didn't flip his Trump opinion back to favorable. In fact he now seems to have turned completely to the Biden camp.
I blame the Canadian media, especially CBC TV, where most Canadians get their news every night of the week. I think their goal is to outdo CNN and MSNBC on the anti-Trump scale.
Have seen interesting speculation that Montgomery is Johnheretohelp.

I don’t know if that’s true, but I will say that he has not portrayed himself as being that technical. He had a peer (so to speak) who ended up going to prison for his computing prowess and JHTH said, “I mean, I’m good but I’m not that good” re technology. He never talked about super computers - his specialty was lower level work. Note he said that he alerted the Trump administration to Roberts’ (and Brennan etc.) plans to have members of the Supreme Court assassinated. In the interviews I’ve heard with JHTH (he interviewed with Santa Surfing Beach Broadcast before the Lin Wood interviews), and his Twitter account, he’s associated with lower level tech (electronic media) and intel. Just my 2.
That young girl gives me hope, I think she could get the job done.
Oh yes, I saw that too, but didn’t think it was remarkable that she’d be co-authoring a book about a subject she knows a lot about. I liked Petey’s comment. I thought I missed something else.
I remain surprised that so many people are taken in by her and can only chalk it up to being supremely ignorant about the real world. I hope Killary didn’t reveal anything to Ms Penny that she’s going to want to kill her for later.

When William Henry Harrison died in 1841 after only 30 days in office, there was a brief constitutional crisis. Vice President John Tyler, a disaffected Democrat who had joined the Whigs, declared that he now was entitled to a complete four year term, and the dates of elections and inaugurations would have to be slipped by a month. Keep in mind that in 1841 we still hadn’t standardized our federal elections.
Whig Party leader Sen. Henry Clay of Kentucky declared that Tyler was only acting president until the Electoral College chosen in the 1840 election could choose another president and vice president. Clay, of course, knew that he would be the Electoral College’s choice. The compromise was that Tyler would finish Harrison’s term.
Clay would bitterly regret his decision. Tyler began governing as a Democrat, not a Whig. I suggest Merrill Peterson’s magisterial The Great Triumvirate: Webster, Clay and Calhoun for the story of the war that broke out between Clay and Tyler. That disagreement led to a disastrous 1842 congressional election performance due to the fact that the Whigs had proved that they were not yet ready for prime time.
The Clay/Frelinghuysen ticket would lose to the Polk/Dallas ticket in 1844 due to stuffed ballot boxes in New York City and New Orleans.
In 1961 Jack Kennedy asked the National Security Council to war-game what would happen if the Soviets nuked Washington and decapitated the federal government.
The NSC lawyers reported that the House could only be reconstituted by special elections. Due to the 17th Amendment, the Senate could be reconstituted mostly by state governors. But the presidency and vice presidency could only be filled by the Electoral College chosen in the previous presidential election.
That’s where we are today.

Yes that is good PR which Musk is great at generating especially relating to delivering via reusable rockets to ISS and his plans for missions to Mars in the future but they at present do not pay the bills.
In December 2020 his Space X was awarded a 885 million dollar contract by the FCC to provide internet service to underserved rural areas with high-speed internet service. Until this point Space X had no major revenue producing clients. This contract can be the building block for his pie in the sky projects, as long as it meets the FCC criteria. A number of companies such as Amazon’s Project Kuiper are also being launched to provide internet service and compete with Musk.
So good PR gives Musk visibility but doesn’t pay the bills. Time will tell if he is successful in his Space X endeavors. A contract awarded in December is promising but future competition is always lurking and can he meet what he has promised?
