Here’s a similar expression written by the historian Will Durant to his wife when his health was declining. They wrote as a team.

Her date of death was the date of the Bolshevik Revolution of 1917 in the “Old Style” or Julian calendar. His date of death was the date of the Bolshevik Revolution using the “New Style” or Gregorian calendar. Just a bit of totally meaningless trivia.
