2 things...is that a rope wrapped around one of the cables? billions spent and we used a rope to get it to the surface? :]
Don’t those rocks look volcanic at least?
Mars has a large volcanic “history”.
I’m guessing that is a data cable rather than a rope. I was thinking there might be use for rope in some situations where you want a bit of “give” - but I’m guessing any “rope” up there wouldn’t last too long between abrasion and UV rays.
I wonder if there is a wire “rope” design of some sort??
