I first listened to Rush in 1989, I had just had my fourth child as a stay at home mom, and my mother called me and said “you have to listen to this guy! Find a radio station!”. Well, I could not find a station right away, (I was in rural LA), so I called my mother back, I told her that I had no luck finding a station (I later did and listened every day), and she put her phone up to her radio, and let me listen over the phone for the next hour!

I remember my dad listening to Rush on his small desktop radio in his den every day. As dad’s Parkinson’s got progressively worse, dad was losing muscle control and had a hard time sitting up straight. But he always listened to Rush kind of hunched over his desk with his red cardigan sweater on and smiling as Rush told his stories. It’s a nice memory of Dad listening to Rush.

I sure do miss “America’s anchorman doing show prep for the rest of the media.”
