Trumps lawyers submitted a 75 page brief yesterday to the Senate regarding the trial. It covers all the bases IMO. A lot to go through but the Conclusion starting on page 74 says it all.

Political theater for sure. I would not be surprised if the Dems move to make the provision that Trump can never hold office, which is a separate vote, a simple majority vote. Might even want to waive the first vote of removal.
