It’s a Marine thing. If you ain’t, then hard to explain...
and some can’t determine if it’s “oorah” or oohrah”. I think oorah is correct.

You did see I did use the words “supposedly” and “outgrowth”?
Who knows what the real deal is with “oohrah” or “oorah”.
We didn’t use “oorah” when I was in. It was “Aarugha”. I was pretty darn close based on my memory.

The Marines have “Oorah...”

The Army has “Hooah... (at least it started getting popular in the 80’s, before that I only heard it near the Ranger Battalions).
Apparently the Air Force picked up on it too (I thought they said “Zoom!”) :)

The Navy and Coast Guard has used “Ooyah” or “Booyah” depending on who you ask.

Space Force? I guess that they have to start new traditions. They will probably say “Qu’vatlh!”
