And we vaccinate against the flu. This is not the typical flu more akin to H1N1 or the more virulent flu variants. Get the vaccine or don’t but dont deny the real illness caused by this virus
And the CDC's own web site lists studies where the effectiveness of those vaccines is a low of 19% to a high of 48% for the last 6 years, with an overall average of 35%. People can do way better than that without having themselves stuck with some vaccine every year.
H1N1 was brutal. I could easily see it killing someone.
Here's the problem. This whole "pandemic" has been manipulated by the Socialist/Globalists for various reasons. The umbrella that covers them all is "Never let a crisis go to waste." Let's go through some of verifiable proof that backs up that assertion. The mishandling of the outbreak, which caused un-necessary deaths, especially in nursing homes in various blue areas. The overly sensitive tests that would now result in false positives if administered under the new CDC guidelines. The monetization of China Virus diagnosis, which gave an incentive for hospitals to report as many positive cases as possible. The admitted lying by authorities on the efficacy of masks. The suppression of low cost treatments that would not monetarily benefit big pharma and the politicians and bureaucrats they lobby. These widespread misdiagnosis' of the virus, virtually led to the eradication of the flu and deaths by various other chronic dieses in 2020, at least on paper. The breathless over hyping by the media of the virus and its mortality rate. The outright censorship of views that run contrary to the narrative that the government and big pharma are pushing. I'm sure more could be added to the list; the picture has been painted, though.
People rightly point these things out, with the conclusion that yes, the China Virus does pose a threat to a certain segment of the populace. For a vast majority, though, like around 98% plus of the population, while different than the flu, the outcome is no worse. These people get labeled as "science deniers", uncaring selfish people who "want to kill grandma", NAZIs (?) and worse. Their whole argument is dismissed. Nonsensical, and useless mandates that debase the human existence, destroy the economy and take a people's basic freedoms are doubled down on by the political class and eagerly applauded by people who now live in fear created by that very political class and their enablers in the media.
Now, we get to the vaccines. People point out the rushed nature of their development. The fact that big pharma insisted on non-accountability in the results. The negative, even deadly responses some have had to getting the shots. They suggest that it doesn't make much sense for someone who statistically is not at increased risk to get a vaccine for a virus that has become chronic. These people are called "anti-vaxxers" and accused of pedaling fear. When they go on a show concerns about the idea of the vaccines being mandated as mandatory, through executive order at the Federal level, through the development and possible implementation of things like Commonpass, and phone tracking apps, they are labeled "kooks".
I agree with you, get the vaccine if you wish. Personally, I'll not be getting it for various reasons. When I've made the above observations as to why I've come to my decision different forms, I have personally been accused of being an "anti-vaxxer" and "pedaling in fear" right here on this very forum by other so called thinking conservatives. So please tell me how we can have an open, honest and frank discussion about the China Virus and the vaccines at this point?
