Yes, the Rudy question, as you noted, is the one that bothers me the most. I’ve been thinking about it since I read the article early this morning. But there are so many other problematic people and actions involved, that, you’re exactly right, it is going to take time to make better sense of how things went so wrong.

It may simply be that after the Michael Cohen scandals, Trump felt he needed Rudi as his personal attorney because he trusted Rudi. It is quite apparent that Trump was surrounded by Swamp Creatures. Hopefully, if he somehow returns to the WH, he is taking this time to reflect on what went wrong, who betrayed him, and who simply didn't serve him well.

Leaders, whether Presidents, or managers, need that one special person with whom they can share the truth. And, they need to hear the truth from that special advisor. Yes, that explains why President Trump relied on Rudy. It just seems to me that Rudy did not apply the same standards of leadership to those who surrounded him.

The President can take some blame for that, but the vast majority of, at least how I’m reading events it, rests squarely on Rudy’s shoulders.

I don’t want to dwell too much on Byrne’s commentary (and I don’t want to bash Rudy), but therein, he spelled out clearly how “swampy” Rudy’s team was.

Going back to the Cohen affair, yes, I think that you are exactly right.

Gosh, it’s a sad state of affairs.

I’ve lurked here for over two decades, and the political commentary and astuteness of it (thank you for all that you wrote) has kept me coming back.

It was time for me to get off of the sidelines and get involved - and now, I’ve got to contribute to FR! I will. That’s a promise.

Wishing you and yours a peaceful Sunday.
