“Oh, man... for a minute there, I was almost buying it.
Then I thought about that family of selfless, patriotic, moral, upright, generous, God-fearing, public servants known as the Bush family. Then I reflected on the equally laudable Romneys. Which in turn made me think of so many other families... who - sometimes generation after generation - ask for nothing more than the chance to bless the rest of us with their wisdom and guidance. Not just Republicans, but Democrats too... like the Clinton and Pelosi/D’Alessandro families. And what about the laudable banking and law firm families, the trust-fund families, the corporate board stalwarts...
Well, I just have to say that I got tears in my eyes. I am so grateful that our betters have so assiduously kept faith with “we, the people,” preserving our Constitutional rights and our four freedoms... all out of the goodness of their hearts. They give us so much, and ask for so little in return...”
What a beautiful tribute niteowl! Aren’t we blessed by their sacrificial greatness? Makes me swoon..........;)
"Sacrificial greatness"... I like that. You and me, we got our minds right about this stuff.
When someone like Mitch McConnell or Chuck Schumer says, "Government of the people, by the people and for the people" (or words to that effect), we can take it to the bank... well, we could, but they are so obliging and conscientious that they take it to the bank for us. Not only that, they also do the hard thinking for us and decide which bank to take it to!
How great is that? What a country!
