Just had a thought - if PT defense argues that the impeachment process is illegal under the Constitution to impeach a private citizen (which it is), why would he bring up the election fraud to prove that he won and IS the President? Is PT letting them think he will bring up the election fraud and then bring out something entirely different (like their crimes)?

Covers all bases.
1) If he’s a private citizen they can’t impeach him.
2) there was election fraud so he’s president, and his words at the rally were spoken well after the capitol building was breached.
included in their little impeachment paper is the accusation that he is building up terrorism by stating that he won the election
