Nice arrangement you put together! I assembled my own desktops from 2000-2014. My 2014 desktop had 16gb mem and a Pentium Haswell CPU with Passmark rating of 3000. 512 GB Silicon Power SSD also. But it pooped out before Christmas. Actually I damaged it via some stupidity.

I was going to build another Comp but CPU prices were too high. So I caved and bought an HP with 8Gb mem/Optane/1TB hard drive. It has a very strong i5-8400 which is almost 10,000 on Passmark. Got on sale from VIP Outlet for about 230$. Its a refurb or a Walmart overstock. But sold as refurb. Minimal extra PCI slots but I like that it is small and light.

So all I really need is an extra 8GB mem which is arriving tomorrow. Cost me 32$ from Amazon. Was the cheapest they had that had good ratings. Of course I bought RAM that matched what the HP came with. Yeah. I know this is not a legit pair and will not work for dual channel. Can't have everything. So total cost was $265 or so. I partitioned the 1TB 7200RPM hard drive. Thus I have a separate Windows OS partition that I can wipe and do a fresh Windows install every two years. Wipe after saving important files onto the large storage partition.

Another good refurb from VIP. Just add 8GB Mem. This one was also on sale last Chritmas. Has Optane to goose the hard drive at least on reads.
