my brother couldn’t get the stink out for a week.

The trick to getting rid of the stink is to lather the dog with toothpaste. Rub it in, wait a little, and then rinse it off. Amazing how well toothpaste works.

For de skunking...

1 quart of 3-percent hydrogen peroxide
1/4 cup baking soda
1 teaspoon liquid dishwashing soap

Works like a champ if you can get it quick.
A second shot the next day if it soaked in.

We keep it in stock with rubber gloves.
Way, way too much experience with the procedure.

One night while rinsing the dog I see red everywhere?
Thinking the dog was cut, I patted him down with white towels... NOTHING? Second, try nothing?

Get out the quarts light... nothing???

The skunk juice or the cleaner caused the dye from his collar to run.
Very happy the dog was OK. Now his red collar is pink.
