Me neither until about 4 months ago because I wanted to watch some streaming programs (for free) and got a used Roku TV device. [snip] Definitely worth the $30 and a little effort to connect some wires

I actually got a new TV for Christmas from one of the kids. Haven't got it hooked up yet. No cable where I live, but not interested in it or satellite anyway. Can't pick up most local stations very well (inside antenna only) since everything went digital. Thanks for the suggestions! I'll look into that when I get around to setting up the new TV. :)

If that new TV is a Smart TV then you can get streaming TV with just the broadband connection

Mine is not, its rather dated.

With a router, Smart TV you will be able to stream and get free channels like Pluto TV and Tubi.
