She did not deserve to be murdered; blown away by a panicked or malevolent clown who, from ~5 feet away, took aim and fired at her head. He intended to kill her when he took that shot. This scumbag was not protecting his family from a break in, nor was he protecting his home from intrusion. At the time he murdered Babbit, the Senate chamber had been cleared and he had a clear, easy path to retreat down. No one would have died had he done that.

And my first rule of engagement in such situations is a practical, sober one: Throw down for real only when you have no other choice to preserve yourself from bodily harm. The bastard that killed Babbit had plenty of room to back off and reassess the situation.

I watched all available videos of the Babbit execution, and that's what it was - a cold blooded, deliberate execution of an unarmed woman. The bastard who killed her should be arrested and charged with second degree murder asap.
