Prefer to have hard cover or paperback book. Once you have it it can’t be taken away, whereas Kindle, Nook or other “online” books can be deleted by the company holding them in your account if they judge the books, like social media is judging free speech. Books are an extension of free speech and they will be coming for them. Look what they did to Hawley’s book to be. Now imagine the little commies don’t like what your kindle books are. They give you the choice to store them on your own computer or, more than likely, erase them.

Agreed. I don't buy Kindle, Nook, etc. books. Project Gutenberg are books that are in the public domain (such as the Baron Trump books) and are free to download or read online. Public domain books are also available at OpenLibrary.org and Archive.org. If I do borrow and read books at these two places that are not in the public domain and decide I want hard copies to keep, I then order the paperback or hardback, usually on eBay (used copies are pretty cheap even including the shipping). IMO, best of both worlds--digital and print. :)

I agree they will come for books eventually. I use this list as a guide and purchase books as time and budget allow. I want to have a comprehensive library of Western thought as the grandchildren come of age to read them.

YEah I think they can remove them without notice. You don’t really own them.

books can be reissued with changes made...so now, I am committed to keeping some books...classics, non fiction and some novels because they’re important too....
