The Pentagon estimated Monday that it will cost American taxpayers $483 million to have National Guard troops protecting the Capitol through March 15.
Pentagon spokesman John Kirby estimated the cost at $284 million for personnel and $199 million for operations.
The National Guard troops are staying in place through former President Donald Trump’s Senate impeachment trial, which starts on Capitol Hill Tuesday.

Me too. I need to pack. And then move stuff. And then unpack. Somewhere in between I need to go get a dry eye treatment in Nashville. I’m trying to figure the logistics of that. Driving makes my arms hurt. So that means I would have to limit the moving. But I’m thinking if I move first and then have the appointment, that might be better. Then I would know if maybe I should fly which is hubby‘s suggestion since he refuses to drive anymore. I’ll have to put off the Treatment for another 3 to 4 weeks, but maybe that’ll be OK. I was debating whether I wanted my eyes to hurt or my arms. Definitely arms. I can deal with that. But not in the middle of moving. I don’t know, I’ll just leave it up to God. Now the trouble starts, trying to figure out His will.
