Sounds like they’re looking for more of a co-op? Where maybe they could go ‘hey, I’ve got 15 pounds of bacon, how much feed you willing to swap for it’?
I know I’ve read about such ‘alternative economy’ ideas in my old Mother Earth News magazines, but I don’t remember exactly how they worked.
Have to be secretive about it as the tax code lists bartering as taxable transactions.
