Raising taxes to pay for climate change sounds reminiscent of sending half a BILLION dollars to your pals at Solyndra so it can go bankrupt and never repay the loans. Where did all that money go? Who converted it to yachts, mansions, other investments, Swiss bank accounts, etc?
