To answer your question is to go look in a mirror and not point fingers. The people who believed Qanon was real are to blame. The people who created Q anon admitted it was a hoax. They explained how it was a hoax. They explained the history, provided the chat logs, and spelled it out. Qanon believes did not want to believe them. They wanted to read between the lines what they wanted to believe for confirmation bias and feed their own pride and ego. Qanon types are just right winger either, there are a lot independent types who despise both parties as well. Qanon was a outlet for them.
So who is to blame, those who create it and told us it was a joke?
Those who kept the joke going?
How about those who wanted to believe he joke was true, because they did not realize it was a joke?
