Can Texas Legally Secede From the United States?

https://www.texastribune.org/2016/06/24/can-texas-legally-secede-united-states

Jun 24, 2016 · Texas has a unique right among states to split itself into five states but not to secede from the United States of America.

If our government does not follow legalities, why should the states?

They can, but they better have an Army, Navy and Air Force and Space Force first. And hope the USA doesn’t send troops, planes and tanks.

I predict right now all that secede talk dies away and doesn’t happen.

On their own, or with Congressional approval?

Just think eight (8) new Senators.

Could we do so to California (Conservative areas)?

Texas has no “right” to secede. They did when they first joined the Union but lost it when they had to surrender after the Civil War. Then the North wrote the rules under which Texas could rejoin.

Splitting Texas into 5 states would add 8 Senate seats...
