Oh, no. My pops took us to see Aaron at Dodger stadium for two games during the end of Aaron's run. He hit (I think) they tying home run when we were there. The next game they sat him out so he could hit the big one in front of his home crowd in Hotlanta.

Sorry to burst your bubble, Bagster, but you were off by one. 713 was in LA. Nice memory for you and your dad. The details of his LA games are also in the article below.

Aaron hit 714 off of my beloved Cincinnati Reds on opening day of 1974. I remember sitting in English class sophomore year when we heard the news. :)

I was a Milwaukee Brave fan back in the 50’s before they moved to Atlanta. Aaron was a rookie in 1954. He hit 44 HR in 1957 — they won WS that year against Yankees. 44 was also his uniform number.

As a grade school kid, I was star struck and watched an interview with him on TV. Yes—they had TV then.

He was asked the question “When you are in a clutch situation at bat, what do you look for”? His reply “ The Ball “
