To: stars & stripes forever

“The battle should have been fought decades ago in the pulpits.”

We feel the same, and won’t attend a church where the pastor isn’t overtly political and conservative. (Our pastor in CA handed out yard signs for GOP candidates.) My mom visited us last month and said all of this is the result of the churches not taking firm political stands — after all, that’s why America was born in 1620. She and dad were in the ministry for 50 years, and he never backed off.

Colonial-era pastors preached fire and brimstone and the Word of God, and afterwards; went out and shot redcoats. Good times.

Sadly those churches are few and far between. IMO, the offering plate is the final word that determines what is preached many of the pulpits.
