Perhaps this evening's 27 minute premier of an interview titled III Marine Expeditionary Force, Interview with Lt. Gen. Clardy, III MEF CG is timed to bring the public into awareness of America's preparedness to deal with China and other enemies.

I have so little experience listening to military brass talk about depth of US strategy (e.g., Pacific), I am struck by an impression of intense focus and advanced capacity to view a complex environment mixed with time-tested history/values. First opening comments went over my head what with all the military acronyms (sounds like Esperanto).

When asked about the strength of the Marines (techonology?) Lt. Gen Clardy said that the strength of the Marines has always been, and will always be, based on the strength of the individual Marine.

Very interesting interview. Just haven't heard the thoughts of those who "live it" (Military mission) as a raison d'etre. Like I said, perhaps the timing of this premier is meant to address the days we're living in (election etc.)

I'm impressed with the level of professionalism, the evolution of thinking and focus - very impressed.

Did you see how dubious he was even with a military reporter? Not impressed with media people you can tell.
