> I read today on here where someone in Congress said that if President Trump pardons Assange, they would impeach him for sure...
They won’t convict. The impeachment articles are from the previous Congress. Those are now dead.

The new Congress started January 3rd. It is just a shift in power in the Senate with a different vice-president as the tie breaker. The question is if they can convict someone who is no longer in office.
There are new articles of impeachment from the current House of Representatives. The question is whether or not the Senate can hold a trial and vote to convict DJT after noon tomorrow.

well if DJT doesn’t “Clean the House” and the Senate, he’ll be right back into the dem slurry of impeachment..
That’s not a given.
Pres. Clinton was impeached in one congress and tried by another.
The House did not re-vote articles of impeachment (near as I can find on the House web site) but they did re-vote for impeachment managers.
and that issue is moot. Congress renews 01/03/xxxx.
The 2nd impeachment was by the new House in the new Congress.
arg...sorry for piling on. I should have looked at replies first.
