Back in the old days that was everyone’s first computer language. After time that shifted to PASCAL, then to C. I went a step further, my first job, while still in college was programming in VAX assembly language.
During the interview process the HR person who was the first among five different people, the rest of whom were directors or VPs, asked me what programming languages I knew. I responded, “It would be easier if you asked me which programming languages I don’t know”.
I wound up getting the job. And it’s a QA job. LMAO.
