I can't see them at night. Those Chinooks would be easily identifiable though. The ones I usually see during the daytime look like this (I think... I really don't know how to identify them. All I know is that they are painted solid black and do not have the unique look of the Chinook.) They usually travel in pairs:

For all I know, it could be Chinooks going overhead in the middle of the night. All I know is that they will wake me up because the whole house is vibrating and it sounds like we're being invaded. Definitely different from the sound of the police or news/traffic helicopters, which I also hear quite often.
