There such a thing called “The Fair Housing Act” denying to rent or sell to someone based on their religion, race or creed is illegal.

Creed, for purposes of FHA and other civil rights laws, means religion. Republicans would like to make it illegal to discriminate based on political beliefs, but as of yet, that is not illegal.
