So I have this feeling something “different” is going on tonight here in Phoenix... I am sitting here reading my bible before going to bed and I hear a big plane go over... We are in the flight path for Sky Harbor when they are landing one direction and the National Guard is also there but also get alot of low Military traffic because we are not that far from Luke AFB too, mostly helicopters.
Anyway, I have been following Monkeywerx on youtube, used to be mil_spec on twitter or maybe still is, my account got banned so I dont know. Anyway he is a plane watcher and I saw the webpage he used so I have bookmarked it. Well after this plane goes over, I pulled that site up and it was a 767, a military flight from Wilmington Ohio that came over my house at 3:00 am and landed at sky harbor, it hit the runway and the transponder and everything went off. Then 20 minutes later, same thing, another big heavy plane. Checked again, another military 767-300 out of Memphis Tennessee
Just had to sit down and type it out so I could calm down and go to bed, lol, who knows but just seems a little out of place to me.
Not to worry, We are using our great military to let our external enemies know we cannot be trifled with as we deal with an internal issues.

I live near the helicopter flight path so I hear the black choppers when they head west/east. They follow the road. The helicopter traffic ramped up last night right at 9pm and I almost posted about it, but it wasn’t really heavy...just more traffic than usual. About a week ago, the heavy beaters (not sure what type—Apache? Blackhawk? — the ones that travel in pairs and make the whole house shake) were going overhead at 2:30 in the morning for several nights in a row. I have not heard those this weekend (or for some reason, they haven’t woken me up.)

That is part of the post landing checklist. Turning the transponder to OFF, keeps it from interfering with active flyers still in radar contact.
