“I've often wondered why our government can't just declare that China no longer owns any land in the USA?”

Great question. Our govt can do exactly that. But we are (or were, until 2017) run by globalists since 1988 who would never do such a thing. Also, there is an argument which goes, if you are going to be a nation of laws that wants to be trusted, you don't do such things. While this makes sense on the surface, it becomes very important just how such laws are written to protect us and it also assumes the USA is dealing with partners who will play by the rules. China is always at war with everyone, most countries just ignore that, and the USA has made that mistake in the past. China is fighting their own version of an asymmetrical war and they are playing for keeps. China is not called The Hegemon for nothing.

If you poke around you can find instances where countries snatched property from American and other countries' citizens.

We are a nation of laws, but when the concept of our laws are used to usurp our laws I’d say all bets are off.

I’m looking forward to President Trump getting this fixed in his second term. I’m also thinking we need to clarify laws concerning foreign investments within our borders.
