Right now, that is a very valid question.

I suppose that it depends on who is running the military at this stage. If its white hats, then we're fine. If it's black hats, then welcome to Venezuela.

That is the big question. Donald Trump is still the president but with the mayors and governors and seemingly every Podunk judge and govt file clerk in the country claiming they can override the Pres on whatever the issue in dispute, we are left to speculate who is running what. Handing this Republic over to the communists will result in chaos in many forms. Unforgivable.
