..Coors was big with the younger set in TX mid 70s...

LOL

Parents lived in Colorado when I was stationed in Texas, would go home on leave, load the back of my car with as many cases of Coors 16oz cans as I could find and sold it to the CA lads back on the base for a buck a can.

Found out years later that I could have been busted for bootlegging or something by TX cops but I don't recall ever seeing one in all the trips I made back and forth.

Jax Beer? Yeah, that was some nasty stuff. Between that and that Lone Star "beer" after I'd run out of my Coors supply weekends got real dry.

It's all the water, y'know.

Heard a couple of South Texans claim that they'd drill for water and always get oil, so the choices went down to Rio Grande "water" (really more like raw sewage that far South) or the odd rainstorm mixed with cow pi$$ got strained through the caliche.

(No, drinking the stuff out of the Gulf wasn't even mentioned)

Ha ha - Ah I forgot about Lone Star Long Necks, well almost forgot. They did advertise A lot. Probably mostly popular with the goat ropers and it was Cheap. Yeah, LS wasnt much better than Jax.

Shiner beer wasnt too bad, at least those guys were German and knew the craft.
