Looking for replacement free social media options I’ve come across one called “Element Messenger”. This one seems to be lacking some of the “cons” of some of the other available options, and might be suitable for staying in touch when other options are down.

I was surprised no phone number or email was required. (I gave it an email anyway, for password reset purposes)

I made an easyst account on the default “Matrix.org homeserver, and discovered friendly folks in a Political Soap Box, General room there.

I’ve set my settings locked down by not authorizing searches based on my email, so I don’t know how hard it will be to find folks there that way, but I’m interested if anyone has any knowledge or thoughts about this app.

This app is an evolution of the old “RIOT” app. I was thinking it might be a little under the radar, compared to the big targets out there.

I made a public, non encrypted room called FreeRepubliq to hang out in if FR is down or something... Its icon is the General Flynn Anon Army Hat.

If any brave souls are willing to give it a shot and see how, or if, it works for them, I’ll try to be available there now and then.

It looks like private encrypted rooms are possible as well.

I’m not trying to set up any big thing there, but if comms are down, you might find me there if I find no reason to leave it.

Need prayers please. My grandson was riding his bike today and was hit from behind. Hit and run. He was taken to Naval Hospital as it is a trauma unit. They are transferring him to a larger hospital farther away. Just spoke to DIL and she said he lost consciousness for a bit and dont remember what happened. He has swelling in the neck and a very bad concussion. Sorry for the slide. I just need prayers. His name is Joseph.

looking at the air tracker just now there is a hot air ballon squawking their signal over the border between Texas and Louisiana. Get this! He's at an altitude of 63,700 ft moving along at a leisurely 14 knots. Yes I started seeing them several days ago, they usually get released in northern NM. 2 days ago there were 4 balloons floating at the same time. Interesting.

Some guys are having a hard time with Flight Simulator 2020! Hot air ballons are the new gulfstreams, lol!
