"I have occasionally used Amazon to search for products. When I find a product, I then search for the vendor. I buy directly from them and it’s always the same price or less. That way the business gets the money, instead of sharing with Amazon.

I have my own small business and necessarily sell SOME items on Amazon. I wish more of my buyers would do exactly this. Find the product on Amazon; click on the seller name to find out who they are; contact them directly and ask if you can buy direct at the Amazon price. As you state, for some of my products I can sell below the Amazon price, as I'm not having to pay them their vig.
